For every liter of sparkling wine sold in Germany, a sparkling wine tax of 1.36 euros is charged. There are two different ways to display the sparkling wine tax in Weinbau-online - one with and one without explicit disclosure to the customer.

Sparkling wine tax without disclosure to the customer

In the article tab, you will find a check mark “subject to sparkling wine tax” in the VAT settings. If this box is checked, Winestro.Cloud will calculate the sparkling wine tax to be paid by you for this item internally. As the sparkling wine tax is charged per liter, it is important that a liter specification is also stored for the respective article.

Customers can also be marked as exempt from sparkling wine tax. Orders from these customers adopt this marking - which can be edited separately in the order - even for orders from customers who are not marked accordingly.

You can find the list of the sparkling wine tax to be paid under Statistics - Turnover for each month. There is an extra line for example-> “Sparkling wine tax July 2019”. Every sale of items marked as “subject to sparkling wine tax” and every own consumption of these items entered in the program is taken into account.

The control list shows each individual invoice item in connection with the sparkling wine tax - including those that have been entered as exempt from the sparkling wine tax.

If you increasingly work in the B2B area or never want to use a discount on the sparkling wine tax received, the following method is recommended: Create an article “Sparkling wine tax 0.75”, for example, for each container size of your article subject to sparkling wine tax. Enter the appropriate price there in the amount of the applicable sparkling wine tax and check the box for this price under Discount block. Remember that the sparkling wine tax is again subject to VAT, so you should enter the net amount.

Note: In the respective sparkling wine tax article under “Important settings”, be sure to check the box “Sparkling wine tax article” - now the sparkling wine tax will be recorded correctly.

Then go to the tabs for your item subject to sales tax. In the “Administration” tab under “Transactions” you will find the option “Additional items on sale”. Enter the sparkling wine tax there with the corresponding price list.

If you then add a sparkling wine to an order, a second item for the sparkling wine tax will be added to the order at the same time.

You can find the evaluation of your sparkling wine tax via the sales of the article Sparkling wine tax in the statistics. (Statistical lists - Tab: Articles - Turnover by article)
